Tigh Crom

An exciting curved contemporary oak framed house in the Highlands forming part of the Achabeag sustainable housing development. This house curves to face the dramatic views of the sea opposite.

The house is constructed with an exposed green oak frame internally and hemp insulation filled wall and roof panels, with a moss sedum roof finish to the rear.

The exposed green oak frame internally expresses the facetted geometry of the house and creates a pleasing visual effect.

A glazed oak ‘shard’ dissects the main roof and is expressed as a glazed gable on the main elevation.

The selection of neutral colours and simple finishes internally creates a calm interior and allows the stunning views to dominate.

The use of natural building materials includes oak, hemp insulation, lime render, slate and moss sedum roofs.

A beautiful house in a stunning location.
